SCOTT: FBI MUST RELEASE ALL DETAILS REGARDING FAILURE TO INVESTIGATE CRUZ TIP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PARKLAND, Fla. \u2013 Today, Governor Rick Scott called on the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to release all details surrounding the Bureau\u2019s failure to take action after receiving information on January 5, 2018, regarding \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/breaking911.com\/new-video-shows-nikolas-cruz-firing-bb-gun-months-school-shooting\/\">[Nikolas] Cruz<\/a>\u2019s gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting.\u201d Last week, Governor Scott called on FBI Director Christopher Wray to resign following the Bureau\u2019s admission that it did not follow through and investigate this critical tip.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>FBI Statement on the Shooting in Parkland, Florida:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>On January 5, 2018, a person close to Nikolas Cruz contacted the FBI\u2019s Public Access Line (PAL) tipline to report concerns about him. The caller provided information about Cruz\u2019s gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Under established protocols, the information provided by the caller should have been assessed as a potential threat to life. The information then should have been forwarded to the FBI Miami Field Office, where appropriate investigative steps would have been taken.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We have determined that these protocols were not followed for the information received by the PAL on January 5. The information was not provided to the Miami Field Office, and no further investigation was conducted at that time.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>FBI Director Christopher Wray said:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe are still investigating the facts. I am committed to getting to the bottom of what happened in this particular matter, as well as reviewing our processes for responding to information that we receive from the public. It\u2019s up to all Americans to be vigilant, and when members of the public contact us with concerns, we must act properly and quickly.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe have spoken with victims and families, and deeply regret the additional pain this causes all those affected by this horrific tragedy. All of the men and women of the FBI are dedicated to keeping the American people safe, and are relentlessly committed to improving all that we do and how we do it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Governor Scott said, \u201cLast week, our state and nation was shocked to learn of the FBI\u2019s inexcusable inaction after receiving a tip informing them of Cruz\u2019s desire to carry out a school shooting. The FBI\u2019s failure to initiate an investigation raises many questions, and the victims\u2019 families deserve answers now. Today, I am calling on the FBI to immediately release all details surrounding the Bureau\u2019s failure to act on a tip it received, including all details and protocols.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast week, I called on Director Wray to resign, and the FBI should release all records involving this terrible error. People in Washington tend to want to investigate, hold hearings and put off what truly needs to be done.
