LAS VEGAS —\u00a0A suspect is in custody and is set to be charged in the shooting deaths of two homeless men in Las Vegas and the attempted murders of two other victims—police say the incidents appear random.<\/p>\n
On January 29, 2018 at 3:06 a.m. officers were dispatched to the 2900
\nblock of West Washington Street and found an unresponsive man suffering from
\ngunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, and detectives
\nwith the LVMPD Homicide Section determined he had been sleeping outside of the
\nbusiness when an unidentified suspect walked up and shot him. The suspect fled the
\nscene before officers\u2019 arrival.<\/p>\n
At about 7:13 a.m. that same morning, the LVMPD was notified about another homeless
\nmale that had been taken to UMC Trauma with a gunshot wound to the head. The
\nvictim woke up with the injury and did not know when it actually occurred. The victim
\nwas initially transported from the area of Veterans Memorial Drive and East Washington
\nAvenue. Police say the two incidents were related.<\/p>\n
On February 2, 2018 at 10:03 a.m. officers were dispatched to the area of North 14th Street and US-95 to investigate a report of a man discovered deceased under the bridge. At about 4:16 a.m. video surveillance showed the suspect approaching the victim and shooting him.<\/p>\n
It was later discovered that on January 29, 2018 at about 12:30 a.m. a shooting had
\ntaken place in Logandale, Nevada. The victim was outside of a convenience store
\nwhen the suspect approached in a vehicle. The suspect shot several rounds towards
\nthe victim, striking him once. The victim suffered a non-life threatening wound.<\/p>\n
Surveillance video of the vehicle was obtained and appears to be the same vehicle from\u00a0the events that took place later that day in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n
During the course of the investigation, police determined all four of these incidents are
\nrelated.<\/p>\n
Detectives identified 26-year-old Joshua Castellon as the suspect.<\/p>\n
Castellon was arrested on February 16, 2018 by a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms on a federal weapons charge. Today, detectives with the LVMPD Homicide Section submitted a Declaration of Warrant for the arrest of Castellon for two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder to the Clark County District Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
