ATLANTA. \u2014 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations officers in Atlanta worked with CBP New Orleans to apprehend a cruise ship member Tuesday at the Amtrak station in Atlanta, GA.<\/p>\n
On May 21, Carnival vessel agent alerted CBP New Orleans Field Office that Gentian Kurdina, 23, an Albania national failed to return to the cruise ship docked at Port of New Orleans.<\/p>\n
CBP New Orleans and Atlanta officers coordinated during the investigation and search for this deserter that included responding to the arrival of an Amtrak train that departed New Orleans destined for New York City. CBP officers from Atlanta boarded the Amtrak train late Tuesday, identified Kurdina, and took him into custody for removal from the U.S.<\/p>\n
