IPAWS National Test of the Emergency Alert System<\/a> (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) Set For Thursday, September 20, 2018<\/p>\n

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), was set to conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) on September 20, 2018. The Nationwide Wireless Emergency Alert Test will now occur on October 3 due to the severe weather events in North Carolina and South Carolina.<\/p>\n

We will conduct a national test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) with radio, TV, cable stations, and wireless carriers on September 20, 2018.
