A man was sentenced Friday to five years in state prison for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in her Torrance home last year, the Los Angeles County District Attorney\u2019s Office announced.<\/p>\n
A judge also ordered lifetime sex offender registration for Kenneth Collard, 52. Earlier this month, Collard pleaded guilty to two counts of lewd act upon a child.<\/p>\n
Deputy District Attorney Ann Marie Wise of the Justice System Integrity Division prosecuted the case.<\/p>\n
On April 4, 2018, Collard, who was employed as a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department at the time, was staying at a friend\u2019s house in Torrance. During the night, he entered the victim\u2019s bedroom and sexually assaulted her.<\/p>\n
At sentencing, the victim call Collard a “coward,” adding, “You’ve made me so angry that I could scream.”<\/p>\n
