The man fatally shot at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in front of 1814 Dr. D.B. Todd Boulevard is identified as Anthony Rucker, 33, of Nashville. The investigation at present shows that Rucker was sitting on a motorcycle talking with other persons when a gunman armed with a rifle approached and opened fire on them from a distance of about 25 yards. Rucker was hit as he tried to avoid the gunfire. No one else was shot. Rucker died shortly after arriving at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.<\/p>\n
Witnesses described the gunman as a black man with dreadlocks who was last seen running through an alley toward 16th Avenue North. The motive for firing on the specific group of individuals has not been determined.<\/p>\n
