It was in September of last year when Tekashi 6ix9ine gave his testimony exposing several celebrities as members of an infamous NYC gang. At that time, to find someone’s records like Tekashi’s was difficult: he was accused of racketeering, illegal firearm possession, and attempted murder. The internet labelled him a ‘snitch’ and fans enjoyed a couple of months’ worth of memes to go along with the trial. Despite all this, his trail was not as popular as new GOOBA video, the first since his release.

Tekashi is Trending Again

An analysis comparing the keywords ‘6ix9ine testimony’ and the ‘GOOBA’ show something we could all expect from Tekashi. In the middle of September, the first keyword reached peak popularity, meaning it was all anyone talked about and searched. But in less than a week, the term ‘GOOBA’ has managed to reach 75% of that popularity. This means that since its May 8th release, the rapper’s new video managed to get more than half the popularity of his trial, which took a month to peak.

In less than a month his music video racked up more than 290 million views, even after it was removed due to copyright violations. He appears as confident as ever, surrounded by several women in candy-colored shorts and bras, showing off huge rears. At one point the rapper even flaunts his ankle bracelet meant to monitor his position at any given time. This is a far-cry from months before when the young sensation faced a potential 37-year sentence which was eventually reduced to 2 years in prison. And while he appeared in court as Daniel Hernandez, this new video shows that he’s back as the legend 6ix9ine.

Apologizing to His Fans

Tekashi no doubt felt high off his success after realizing that his reputation as a snitch is not as popular as new GOOBA video. He took to Instagram Live to share his excitement with his fans and cleared his name while he was at it. During the 11-minute rant, 6ix9ine appears in all his eccentricity, with rainbow-colored dreads and diamond-studded jewelry worth millions. He talked about how his views of loyalty changed after his gang turned on him and even slept with his ex, Sara Molina.

“I want to apologize to my fans because you know what? It wasn’t worth it. If there is a street code and there’s something called ‘no loyalty’ and snitching and all that, I get it. But, where was the loyalty when you were sleeping with my baby mother,” he said. “Where was the loyalty when you were caught on the wiretap trying to kill me? Where was the loyalty when you tried to kidnap my mother? Where was the loyalty when you stole millions of dollars?”

“I get it– don’t fight fire with fire,” he continued. “I’m sorry but what did I do wrong? Be loyal to n****s that was f*king my baby moms? Be loyal to n****s that kidnapped me? Beat the s**t out of me on video and everything? I’m supposed to be loyal to that? You know what is is, ya don’t want to accept the fact that those is all true facts.”

“Ya understand why I snitched, ya don’t wanna understand.”

The twisted claims are disputed by his girlfriend, ex-friends, and others who were around the fallen star. The rapper’s kidnapping was trolling to promote coming song ‘FeFe’ says former Tr3yway labelmates turned accused. That claim was not accepted by judges on the 6ixine case however. Label manager ‘Shotti’ got 15 years thanks to the rapper, real name Daniel Hernandez, flipping on everyone.

One thing that was made clear by BeforeFamous.com, 6ix9ine’s image is totally different than who he was in his childhood. There is definitely a lot of acting tied to his current image.

Watch Your BackNow if you want to find someone’s records like Tekashi’s it will be more difficult because of his rising popularity. Search results for his trial and snitching are getting left behind in the google search pages and people will soon forget all about it. However, one person who won’t forget about it is 6ix9ine himself. Even though he received a short sentence, he put his life in danger for snitching and will have to watch his back wherever he goes from now on.
