WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wisconsin – Two people are dead following a home invasion in the Wisconsin town of Kewaskum Wednesday. Deputies say a resident was killed and a police drone later located the suspect dead nearby.<\/p>\n
Around 2:50 p.m. local time, the Washington County Sheriff\u2019s Office received a landline 911 phone call from a person in the 8100 Block of Forest View Road claiming a man had that his way into the home demanding the keys to a vehicle.<\/p>\n
Just minutes later, a second 911 call from a neighboring home reported hearing shots fired and a gunman walking towards the caller\u2019s house. Upon the arrival of law enforcement, there was an exchange of gunfire with the suspect, followed by the suspect fleeing on foot.<\/p>\n
A perimeter was established and a drone located a subject matching the suspect\u2019s description a short distance away. Officers approached and located the suspect dead from an apparent gunshot wound. A firearm was also located near his body.<\/p>\n
Other responding deputies located a deceased person outside the first 911 caller\u2019s home. A witness stated that the resident had been shot by the suspect prior to law enforcement\u2019s arrival.<\/p>\n
