A veteran Boston Police Department detective has passed away after serving with the department for 27 years. Charisse Brittle-Powell was 48-years-old.<\/p>\n

“It is with deep regret that the Boston Police Department announces the passing of active-duty Boston Police Detective Charisse Brittle-Powell,” BPD wrote in a statement.<\/strong> “Detective Brittle-Powell was a 27-year veteran of the BPD who served admirably in a number of assignments during her career. Charisse will be greatly missed by her friends and colleagues here at the Boston Police Department as we send our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones, especially her husband, Boston Police Sergeant Detective Courtney Powell, during this tremendously sad and difficult time.”<\/p>\n

The Boston Police Detectives Benevolent Society said in a news release that Brittle-Powell \u201cserved with distinction in a number of assignments during her career and her impact will not be soon forgotten.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association, Brittle-Powell died on Sunday at Brigham and Women\u2019s Hospital due to complications from COVID-19.<\/p>\n
