JACKSON, Tenn. – Officials in Tennessee say they have found the body of a 19-year-old woman who went missing last Thursday. Her boyfriend has been charged with her murder.<\/p>\n

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Tuesday Patti Hathcock’s remains were found in the city of Jackson.<\/p>\n

“Thank you to those who joined us in holding out hope for a more positive outcome,” the Bureau wrote in a tweet<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jackson police had said in a statement: A witness contacted the Jackson Police Department Friday evening and stated Ms. Hathcock\u2019s vehicle was located in a local park.\u00a0 The witness believed Ms. Hathcock had been killed by her boyfriend, Shawn Shaw.\u00a0 Ms. Hathcock\u2019s vehicle was located and had evidence of a violent assault.<\/em><\/p>\n

Shawn Shaw was located by law enforcement over the weekend and interviewed by investigators. Shaw admitted to assaulting Ms. Hathcock in Jackson, TN before driving her into south Madison County where he killed her and concealed her body.\u00a0 Shaw led investigators to the body of Patti Hathcock.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

The body of Hathcock was sent to Nashville, TN for an autopsy to be performed.\u00a0 Shawn Shaw will be arraigned on charges of First Degree Murder, Especially Aggravated Kidnapping, Domestic Assault, and Tampering with Evidence.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Further details regarding where her body was found and her cause of death were not immediately made public. A motive also remains under investigation.<\/p>\n
