{"id":161336,"date":"2021-07-21T15:16:26","date_gmt":"2021-07-21T19:16:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/breaking911.com\/?p=161336"},"modified":"2021-07-21T22:19:34","modified_gmt":"2021-07-22T02:19:34","slug":"breaking-authorities-thwart-mass-shooting-of-women-at-university-by-arresting-self-described-incel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/breaking911.com\/breaking-authorities-thwart-mass-shooting-of-women-at-university-by-arresting-self-described-incel\/","title":{"rendered":"Authorities Thwart Mass Shooting of Women at University By Arresting Self-Described &#8216;Incel&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CINCINNATI \u2013 A federal grand jury has charged a local, self-identified \u201cIncel\u201d with attempting to conduct a mass shooting of women and with illegally possessing a machine gun.<\/p>\n<p>Tres Genco, 21, of Hillsboro, Ohio, allegedly plotted to commit a hate crime, namely, a plan to shoot women at a university in Ohio.<strong> He was arrested by federal agents today.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ohio \u2018incel\u2019 charged in alleged plot to kill college women\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5ywiDAegZNI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Genco identified as an Incel or \u201cinvoluntary celibate.\u201d The Incel movement is an online community of predominantly men who harbor anger towards women. Incels advocate violence in support of their belief that women unjustly deny them sexual or romantic attention to which they believe they are entitled.<\/p>\n<p>According to the indictment, Genco maintained profiles on a popular Incel website from at least July 2019 through mid-March 2020. Genco was a frequent poster on the site.<\/p>\n<p>In one post, Genco allegedly detailed spraying \u201csome foids and couples\u201d with orange juice in a water gun. Foids is an Incel term short for \u201cfemoids,\u201d referring to women. According to the charging document, Genco compared his \u201cextremely empowering action\u201d to similar conduct by known Incel Elliot Rodger. In May 2014, Rodger killed six people and injured 14 others, including shooting individuals outside a University of California, Santa Barbara sorority house. Prior to his mass attack, Rodger shot a group of college students with orange juice from a water gun.<\/p>\n<p>Genco also allegedly wrote a manifesto, stating he would \u201cslaughter\u201d women \u201cout of hatred, jealousy and revenge\u2026\u201d and referring to death as the \u201cgreat equalizer.\u201d As part of this investigation, law enforcement agents discovered a note of Genco\u2019s that indicated he hoped to \u201caim big\u201d for a kill count of 3,000 people with a reference to the same date as Elliot Rodger\u2019s attack, and intended to attend military training. The investigation revealed that the day he wrote his manifesto, he searched online for sororities and a university in Ohio.<\/p>\n<p>It is alleged that in 2019, Genco purchased tactical gloves, a bulletproof vest, a hoodie bearing the word \u201cRevenge,\u201d cargo pants, a bowie knife, a skull facemask, two Glock 17 magazines, a 9mm Glock 17 clip, and a holster clip concealed carry for a Glock.<\/p>\n<p>Genco attended Army Basic Training in Georgia from August through December 2019. He was discharged for entry-level performance and conduct.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2020, Genco allegedly wrote a document entitled \u201cisolated\u201d that he described as \u201cthe writings of the deluded and homicidal.\u201d Genco signed the document, \u201cYour hopeful friend and murderer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The charging document alleges Genco conducted surveillance at an Ohio university on Jan. 15, 2020. That same day, he allegedly searched online for topics including \u201cplanning a shooting crime\u201d and \u201cwhen does preparing for a crime become an attempt?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On March 12, 2020, Highland County sheriff\u2019s deputies responded to Genco\u2019s residence. At the residence, in the trunk of Genco\u2019s vehicle, police officers found, among other things, a firearm with a bump stock attached, several loaded magazines, body armor and boxes of ammunition. Inside the residence, police officers found a modified Glock-style 9mm semiautomatic pistol, with no manufacturer\u2019s marks or serial number, hidden in a heating vent in Genco\u2019s bedroom.<\/p>\n<p>Genco is charged with one count of attempting to commit a hate crime and one count of illegally possessing a machinegun. The hate crime charge is punishable by up to life imprisonment.
