Detectives in Nashville are investigating Monday night\u2019s shooting inside an apartment at 2071 Oakwood Avenue that critically injured two-year-old Anthony Thorpe.<\/p>\n

Anthony\u2019s mother, Aaliyah Scales, 23, reported that Anthony\u2019s father, Jeffery Thorpe, was visiting and had placed his firearm on a bed where Anthony picked up the gun and fired it. Anthony was struck in the head.<\/p>\n

Jeffery Thorpe, 23, drove Scales and Anthony to Skyline Medical Center where he dropped them off. He did not return.<\/p>\n

Anthony was transferred to Vanderbilt Children\u2019s Hospital where he is in extremely critical condition. The gun has not been recovered.<\/p>\n

Youth Services detectives are working to locate Jeffery Thorpe for questioning. He is also wanted on an outstanding aggravated assault warrant for allegedly pointing a handgun at a car containing Scales and Anthony during an argument last June.<\/p>\n
