{"id":166089,"date":"2021-11-10T16:54:54","date_gmt":"2021-11-10T21:54:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/breaking911.com\/?p=166089"},"modified":"2021-11-10T17:08:12","modified_gmt":"2021-11-10T22:08:12","slug":"breaking-ny-ag-releases-interview-transcripts-in-cuomo-harassment-probe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/breaking911.com\/breaking-ny-ag-releases-interview-transcripts-in-cuomo-harassment-probe\/","title":{"rendered":"NY AG Releases Interview Transcripts In Cuomo Harassment Probe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NEW YORK \u2013 The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) today began the <a href=\"https:\/\/ag.ny.gov\/CuomoIndependentInvestigation\">rolling release of hundreds of pages of transcripts and corresponding exhibits<\/a> from its investigation into sexual harassment allegations against former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.<\/p>\n<p>On August 3, 2021, after nearly five months of investigating, the independent investigators appointed by New York Attorney General Letitia James \u2014 led by Joon H. Kim and Anne L. Clark \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/ag.ny.gov\/press-release\/2021\/independent-investigators-find-governor-cuomo-sexually-harassed-multiple-women\">released their report<\/a> concerning the multiple allegations of sexual harassment by Cuomo. Following the release of the report, multiple district attorneys asked that the OAG refrain from publicly releasing transcripts and other evidence so that their offices could first investigate and determine whether to file criminal charges against Cuomo.<\/p>\n<p>However, following the filing of a criminal complaint against Cuomo on October 28, 2021 in Albany County, the Albany County District Attorney\u2019s Office informed the OAG that it would begin releasing evidence to Cuomo to comply with New York state\u2019s discovery laws. These laws state that once someone is charged with a crime they must be furnished transcripts and other evidence in their case. As these materials are now being released by the Albany County District Attorney\u2019s office \u2014 and in an effort to provide full transparency to the people of New York \u2014 the OAG has informed local district attorneys that it will immediately begin releasing, on a rolling basis, all transcripts and corresponding exhibits compiled during the investigation, pending redactions to protect the privacy of individuals, as appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation was conducted after, on March 1, 2021, the Executive Chamber made a referral, pursuant to New York Executive Law Section 63(8), for Attorney General James to select independent lawyers to investigate \u201callegations of and circumstances surrounding sexual harassment claims made against the governor.\u201d Kim and Clark were chosen to lead the investigation on March 8, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The transcripts and exhibits being released today <a href=\"https:\/\/ag.ny.gov\/CuomoIndependentInvestigation\">can be accessed here.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW YORK \u2013 The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) today began the rolling release of hundreds of pages of transcripts and corresponding exhibits from its investigation into sexual harassment allegations against former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
