A 16-year old male and 24-year-old male have been arrested<\/a> in the grisly murder of a middle school teacher.<\/p>\n Lancaster Police arrested Marcus Anthony Rutter, age 16, on Monday night and and on Wednesday announced the\u00a0arrest of Thomas Moore, age 25, for the murder of Nicole R. Matthewson.<\/p>\n Both have been charged with burglary, homicide, criminal conspiracy to commit burglary and robbery.<\/p>\n No information on the nature of the murder was released, however Lancaster City Police Chief Keith Sadler said that Matthewson was “brutally murdered” during a Tuesday press conference<\/a>.<\/p>\n When Matthewson was not at school on Monday morning, a friend checked on her and quickly called police to find her dead. Traumatic injuries were visible.<\/p>\n Rutter has admitted to police that he intended to rob the house and that he and his accomplice caused the death of the teacher.<\/p>\n “Based on what (Rutter has) said, we’re absolutely sure he participated in this murder, there’s no other way around it,” explained Lancaster County Distric Attorney Craig Stedman.<\/p>\n Initially reported missing, the teacher’s black 2005 Mazda sedan has since been found. Police have not released any additional information on the investigation at this time.<\/p>\n A GoFundMe page<\/a> has been established to pay for Matthewson’s funeral costs.<\/p>\n
