A strong area of low-pressure will develop off the eastern seaboard and track north towards New York City Monday night and Tuesday. As a result, New York City is at risk for a major winter storm with 10-14 inches of snow (possibly more) and near-blizzard conditions from Monday night through Late Tuesday night\/early Wednesday morning. Snowfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour are expected but could increase to 3-4 inches per hour if intense snow bands develop over the city. Ice accretion and significant coastal flooding are not expected with this system.<\/p>\n
