{"id":27789,"date":"2015-01-26T15:06:13","date_gmt":"2015-01-26T20:06:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/breaking911.com\/?p=27789"},"modified":"2015-01-26T15:06:13","modified_gmt":"2015-01-26T20:06:13","slug":"full-text-nypd-releases-statement-regarding-blizzardof2015-nyc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/breaking911.com\/full-text-nypd-releases-statement-regarding-blizzardof2015-nyc\/","title":{"rendered":"FULL TEXT: NYPD Releases Statement Regarding #BlizzardOf2015 -#NYC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for snow in the NYC Metropolitan area.\u00a0 Heavy snow will fall with strong blowing winds and drifting of powdery snow beginning this afternoon, <span data-term=\"goog_1165885086\">Monday, January 26, 2015<\/span> and continue until <span data-term=\"goog_1165885087\">Tuesday, January 27, 2015<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>After the snow moves out of the area, temperatures are expected to fall\u00a0in the low 20\u2019s. Due to hazardous conditions during the storm, only emergency vehicles will be authorized on the roadways to make sure the public remains safe.<\/p>\n<p>All non-essential workers are strongly encouraged to stay off the roads.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In preparation for the upcoming snow storm, the NYPD has ordered all precinct commanders to survey their commands for hazardous conditions and damage resulting from high winds.\u00a0 Special attention will be given to construction sites and high rise structures<\/li>\n<li>All members on patrol who encounter a homeless individual will ensure the person has shelter.\u00a0 If the person has no shelter, they will offer the person transportation to the nearest shelter facility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>All vehicles will be fueled and ready for deployment<\/li>\n<li>Tours will be monitored to ensure that staffing is available<\/li>\n<li>Mounted officers in vehicles, Highway Units and NYPD Tow trucks will patrol highways around the city for disabled vehicles and motorists needing assistance<\/li>\n<li>Message boards will be activated on marked patrol vehicles alerting motorist of hazardous conditions<\/li>\n<li>Snow chains will be placed on department vehicles to allow for safe movement during the storm<\/li>\n<li>During the storm the public should call 911 for emergencies, all non-emergency calls should be directed to 311<\/li>\n<li>The 911 system will be monitored for incoming calls<\/li>\n<li>Aviation operations will be suspended<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for snow in the NYC Metropolitan area.\u00a0 Heavy snow will fall with strong blowing winds and drifting of powdery snow beginning this afternoon, Monday, January 26, 2015 and continue until Tuesday, January 27, 2015.
