Chris Christie and members of his administration.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators are looking at allegations that the governor and his staff broke the law when they quashed grand jury indictments against Christie supporters, International Business Times\u00a0first reported.<\/p>\n<p>Former Hunterdon County Assistant Prosecutor Bennett Barlyn says he was fired because he objected to Christie officials dismissing indictments against political allies of the governor. Barlyn confirmed the investigation to ABC News.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is true,&#8221; Barlyn told ABC News, saying he was interviewed by federal authorities at his\u00a0home this week. &#8220;I also provided the investigators with names of people I thought could furnish firsthand information.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The New Jersey U.S. Attorney\u2019s office declined to comment. Christie has denied any involvement in Barlyn&#8217;s termination, while maintaining that he does not even know the men and women he has been accused of aiding. The governor&#8217;s office did not respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>In the interview, Barlyn claimed he was fired for &#8220;political reasons.&#8221; He said the state attorney general gave him no explanation for his <a href=\"http:\/\/abc7.com\/news\/chris-christie-facing-new-criminal-investigation\/506195\/\">dismissal.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A federal investigation has been launched against\u00a0New Jersey Gov.
