Shopping Mall Has Died, Possibly &#8216;Suicide By Cop&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DENHAM SPRINGS, Louisiana &#8212; Officials are investigating an Officer involved shooting in a shopping center parking lot.<\/p>\n<p>Police spokesperson Glenn Lemoine told WBRZ, a person pointed a gun in the direction of one police officer, and a second officer on the scene shot the man.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was rushed to the hospital where he has since passed away.<\/p>\n<p>FROM WAFB:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>&#8220;Det. Lemoine says the man pulled out a gun from his jacket and fully extended his arm with the gun towards the officers, that is when the officer shot the man. The officer who shot the man is a Denham Springs Police Officer and has been with the force for about five years.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Police investigating the shooting say the victim&#8217;s mother called police concerned that her son might be suicidal. With that information, police say they&#8217;re looking into the possibility that the man intentionally pointed a weapon at police hoping to be shot.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>The man&#8217;s mother says her son was a semi-truck driver and she encouraged her son to pull over. She called police and told them where to find him.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The incident happened\u00a0between Hooters and a Longhorn Steak House.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Denham Springs is a city in Livingston Parish, Louisiana, United States, and part of the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Statistical Area.
