New Britain, Conn. — Early this morning, two masked men allegedly broke into a home and tied the man’s mother to her bed with a device they said was a bomb.

The men then kidnapped her son, a manager at the Achieve Financial Credit Union in New Britain, and strapped him with a device. They then ordered the man to drive to the Credit Union and open the vault.

According to ABC, the male victim was somehow able to alert the employees of what was happening and they called 911. Police swarmed the Credit Union.

The bank employee was found wearing the device in a car parked outside the bank, he was handcuffed, taken to a hospital, and is being questioned. NBC Philly reports the ‘explosive devices’ were fake.

No arrests have been made but Police say the threat is over.
