As a result, 24-year-old, Brett Flower, and 23-year-old Krysten Verdin, are both facing cruelty to juvenile charges.<\/p>\n<p>A complaint was filed by the child\u2019s grandfather when he began to notice signs of abuse to his 1-year-old grandson. When investigators began to question the friend<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">s and family of the accused, they discovered that on several occasions, <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text_exposed_show\">Mr. Flower, who is the boyfriend of Ms. Verdin, would pour beer down the child\u2019s throat; causing him to choke and regurgitate. After the child would regurgitate the beer, the boy\u2019s mother, Krysten Verdin, would become agitated and slap the child on the back of the head; causing him to fall on the floor.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<p>On Tuesday, February 24, 2015, both Flower and Verdin were booked into the Slidell City Jail, and were later transported to the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
