DETROIT, Michigan —\u00a0Martin Luther King Apartments — St. Aubin St.<\/p>\n
The dead bodies of two children\u00a0were discovered inside a freezer while a Court Officer was attempting to serve an eviction notice on the City’s East side.<\/p>\n
The children died from “multiple blunt trauma,” the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office said.<\/p>\n
One child suffered “thermal injuries” after he was placed in the freezer.<\/p>\n
Police have not identified the victims but reports say their ages are 14 and 10.<\/p>\n
“Terrible find this afternoon,” Police Chief James Craig said. “It was during that eviction process that they discovered two young children in a freezer … they were inside a bag and appeared to be frozen.”<\/p>\n
The mother, 35-year-old\u00a0Mitchelle Blair has been charged with murder.<\/p>\n
WXYZ-TV reports that two other children, ages 11 and 17, have been taken from the home and placed with protective services.<\/p>\n
