{"id":32613,"date":"2015-03-24T15:47:38","date_gmt":"2015-03-24T19:47:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/breaking911.com\/?p=32613"},"modified":"2015-03-24T21:53:56","modified_gmt":"2015-03-25T01:53:56","slug":"breaking-public-enemy-number-1-sentenced-to-life-plus-240-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/breaking911.com\/breaking-public-enemy-number-1-sentenced-to-life-plus-240-years\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Public Enemy Number 1&#8217; Sentenced To Life Plus 240 Years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BALTIMORE &#8212;\u00a0Public Enemy Number One, Darryl Anderson, was sentenced Tuesday to life plus 240 years for several violent offenses including two counts for murder in the second degree, and six counts of attempted murder in the second degree.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Gennie Shird and Michelle Hitchens were shot and killed in 2013 on Elmora Avenue after Anderson ruthlessly open fired on 7 women and one man.<\/p>\n<p>Tierra Fallin, the co-defendant in this case, recruited Anderson to kill the women. Fallin also received a life sentence plus 240 years. Assistant State\u2019s Attorney Angela Diehl prosecuted the case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are consequences to your actions, especially when there are multiple victims,\u201d said Diehl.<\/p>\n<p>State\u2019s Attorney Marilyn Mosby sat in the front row of the courtroom to witness the proceeding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy heart goes out to the [victims\u2019] family, who I&#8217;ve had an opportunity to speak with following the sentencing today, said Mosby. \u201cI commend the witnesses in this case for exemplifying courageousness to stand up to two murderers in open court. If we as a community stood up to those with a reckless disregard for human life more often, our city would be a safer place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Anderson, a violent repeat offender is no stranger to the law. His criminal record dates back to 2003.\u00a0 After the shootings a yearlong manhunt for Anderson crossed several state lines.
