A small contingent of yesterday’s protestors caused violent disruptions downtown and in west Baltimore last night and early this morning after what had been mostly peaceful protests throughout the day.<\/p>\n

Approximately 34\u00a0people were arrested and six officers suffered minor injuries. Additionally, multiple storefronts were vandalized and several police vehicles and other property was damaged.<\/p>\n

Members of the BPD \u00a0along with our local and state law enforcement partners wor&ed through the early morning hours to calm the situation. Fans were temporarily held last night until we were absolutely sure it was safe for them to depart.<\/p>\n

BPD will continue to have extra officers deployed throughout the city this weekend. would also like to than& the media for encouraging our community to demonstrate peacefully.<\/p>\n
