NORTHGLENN, Colorado — A Northglenn Police Officer was shot Thursday morning while attempting to serve a narcotics arrest warrant.<\/p>\n
The incident went down around 10:00 a.m. local time\u00a0in the 10900 block of East 109th Place.<\/p>\n
The Officer were executing a “no-knock” warrant execution when the suspect opened fire on the officers. The Officers returned fire, killing the suspect.<\/p>\n
The wounded Officer\u00a0was with the Northglenn SWAT team. He was hit in the arm and the leg.\u00a0He was transported in stable condition to a nearby hospital, said Sara Farris, a spokeswoman for North Metro Fire Rescue.<\/p>\n
The deceased suspect was only described as an adult male.<\/p>\n
Officers had been investigating the address for cocaine sales and there were known gang affiliations, according to KDVR.<\/p>\n
Police said eight people were taken into custody and three juveniles were inside the home.<\/p>\n
No further details were available.<\/p>\n
Northglenn is a Home Rule Municipality in Adams and Weld counties in Colorado.<\/p>\n
