WASHINGTON (NNS) — UPDATE: Police say no reported injuries and no evidence of an active shooter at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.<\/p>\n
EARLIER: Naval Support Activity Bethesda is currently in lockdown and all base personnel are sheltering in place as a result of unconfirmed reports of an active shooter. DOD Security Force, NIH Police Force and County EMS and Medics have responded and are searching the area.<\/p>\n
“MCP officers on the scene of Walter Reed. Officers have not confirmed initial report of single shot heard. Working with federal partners.” the police department tweeted.<\/p>\n
Navy said medical center personnel were sheltering in place while the report was being investigated. Navy, Defense Department and NIH security personnel were working with the county police, the Navy said.<\/p>\n
