OLYMPIA, Wash.\u00a0— Okanogan County officials say a store in Mazama claims a 16-year-old girl has walked into their establishment, saying she has survived a plane crash. The plane is presumed to be the overdue private plane that was headed to Lynden. More to follow.<\/p>\n
Rain has delayed the search Monday morning for an overdue private plane headed for Lynden following a day-long search Sunday.<\/p>\n
The Department of Transportation said the small plane carrying three people left western Montana about 4 p.m. Saturday and was due in Lynden at 7 p.m. When the plane didn’t arrive, authorities began an investigation.<\/p>\n
Crews were using the last found cell signal \u2013 about 4 p.m. Saturday near Omak \u2013 to help narrow the search in Skagit, Whatcom, Chelan and Okanogan counties in northern Washington.<\/p>\n
A plane was launched out of Spokane early Monday to check weather conditions. Once they’re given the all-clear that conditions are safe, search flights will resume.<\/p>\n
