Gunman is dead, according to local reports.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MHTXcLzaFsU\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>MORE: Breaking911.com is working to confirm more details After\u00a0Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke confirms one officer has been shot.<\/p>\n<p>There are reports that there is \u00a0a &#8220;active shooter&#8221; in the area.<\/p>\n<p>US officials confirm that the police officer has died of injuries resulting from gunfire. 4 Marines have also been injured in the gun fire, CBS News reported, their conditions are unknown.<\/p>\n<p>The Dept of Homeland Security is activating the Chattanooga Strike Team to search for the Gunman.<\/p>\n<p>Chattanooga State school has been locked down as the developments unravel.<\/p>\n<p>The Governors mansion in Nashville is also on lockdown and extra security has been deployed at the state capitol.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.timesfreepress.com\/news\/local\/story\/2015\/jul\/16\/breaking-shots-fired-tennessee-riverpark-chattanooga\/314944\/\" target=\"_blank\">TimesFreePress<\/a>\u00a0reports that The 6219 Lee Hwy. shooting is an army recruiting center. Radio traffic indicates shots fired at other recruiting centers in Southeast Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in a silver mustang. He was reportedly seen shooting a rifle. He is currently on the loose.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%23USNavy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"hashtag\">USNavy<\/a>\u00a0confirms there was a \u00a0shooting at Reserve Center on Amnicola Highway.<\/p>\n<p>Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke cut short a press conference this morning on a business-related matter, telling reporters than an officer &#8220;was down&#8221; as well as the shooting suspect.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is a very, very terrible situation,&#8221; he said at City Hall. &#8220;I&#8217;m very concerned about what&#8217;s going on. We need to figure out how to handle it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Police also shut down Amnicola Highway and officers were redirecting traffic from the area.<\/p>\n<p><strong><i>This is a developing story.
