NEW YORK, New York — City Council Speaker Melissa Mark Viverito (along with Council Members I. Daneek Miller, Vanessa Gibson, Inez Barron, Costa Constantinides, Daniel Dromm, Vincent Gentile, Rory Lanceman, Brad Lander, Donovan Richards and Ruben Wills) presented the NYPD\u2019s Muslim Officers Society with a proclamation yesterday at City Hall.<\/p>\n

The Council members along with many community members recognized the years of hard work and outreach to Muslim residents in New York City by the officers.<\/p>\n

The NYPD Muslim Officers Society is the Department\u2019s first fraternal organization representing members of the NYPD who are Muslim.<\/p>\n

The society constantly strives to connect with Muslim communities throughout New York City, as well as partnering with law enforcement entities around the country.<\/p>\n
