WATCH: (Scroll Down For Video) A disturbing video has emerged online which shows a man stalking an LAPD officer with a gun.

The footage is the latest in a number of threats to law enforcement in the area as police fear they are being targeted to supposedly atone for controversial police killings.

‘It’s terrifying,’ Lynn Caprarelli, founder of the LAPD Wives Association, told Daily Mail Online.

‘It’s not like we don’t know about the threats but when you see footage like that makes it all the more real.’

The video was posted on Instagram last week and went viral within hours. It has since been taken down.

It is shot from the driver’s seat of a car parked behind a patrol car.

The viewer sees an LAPD officer park up and get out the car. The cell phone camera then pans down to show the cameraman holding a handgun in his lap.

Lynn’s husband, John Caprarelli, retired from the LAPD six years ago after being involved in one of the worst shoot-outs the city has ever seen.

It prompted Lynn to form the LAPD Wives Association to support women like her.

‘Now that John’s out, he can’t imagine why any man or woman would want to become a police officer right now.

‘It’s not a high-paying job, it’s something that you choose to do to help people. You’re putting your life on the line and they are spitting on you.’
