Staff and students at a high school in Colorado say they are ‘scared to death’ after a student hacked into a teachers email and then began to sent messages threatening to kill the instructor in front of their class.

Police and security have been sent to Rangeview High School, in Aurora after the student also threatened to bring a bomb into class this morning.

Teachers had threatened to call in sick en masse if the student was not identified, despite authorities saying the threat was ‘not credible’.

Rangeview opened this morning, according to a spokesman, though it is not immediately clear if the ‘sickout’ took place.

The threat also comes exactly a week after Chris Harper-Mercer stormed the campus of Umpqua Community College and shot nine people dead, injuring another nine.
