DALLAS, Texas — This morning at 7:55 a.m., Dallas Police<\/a> officers responded to several stabbing attack calls near Fair Oaks Crossing and Walnut Hill Lane.<\/p>\n

The victim, who had no identification, appeared to have been jogging on the trail.<\/p>\n

He is described as a white male 25 to 30.<\/p>\n

He was found on White Rock Creek Trail with injuries consistent with a large edged weapon.<\/p>\n

The victim was\u00a0transported to Presbyterian hospital, where he died from his injuries.<\/p>\n

The suspect in the murder, 21-year-old Thomas Johnson, is a former Texas A&M football player.<\/p>\n

He reportedly admitted to committing the crime and has been arrested and will be charged with Murder.<\/p>\n

The suspect told investigators he chose his victim at random.<\/p>\n

In November of 2012, Johnson was a freshman receiver at Texas A&M. He went missing from campus and was eventually found safe in Dallas after three days.<\/p>\n

From WFAA: Investigators said Johnson admitted to the crime and was apparently upset about being evicted from his home recently.<\/em><\/p>\n

Multiple people witnessed the murder and called police. Officers responded to the trail near 8500 Walnut Hill Lane within minutes.<\/em><\/p>\n

“He just attacked him. He told our homicide detectives that he was angry about a situation and he just picked somebody to murder. I believe there’s more to that story. It’s just very unusual. It’s quite shocking,”\u00a0Dallas police Deputy Chief Rob Sherwin said.<\/p>\n

Earlier today, shortly after the fatal hacking, police found the body of a murdered woman who was missing<\/a> since leaving her home for Church. Police say the killings don’t appear to be related.<\/p>\n
