{"id":54302,"date":"2015-10-23T09:59:59","date_gmt":"2015-10-23T13:59:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/breaking911.com\/?p=54302"},"modified":"2015-10-23T10:00:35","modified_gmt":"2015-10-23T14:00:35","slug":"couple-jailed-for-killing-baby-they-said-was-possessed-by-ghosts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/breaking911.com\/couple-jailed-for-killing-baby-they-said-was-possessed-by-ghosts\/","title":{"rendered":"Couple Jailed For Killing Baby They Said Was Possessed By Ghosts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A couple from Birmingham, England, who claimed ghosts had attacked and killed the baby they were looking after have been jailed.<\/p>\n<p>Czech national Marek Holub murdered Santino Balaz on New Year\u2019s Day this year when the child was just 14 months old,.<\/p>\n<p>After attacking the baby, he post images\u00a0of his injuries on Facebook along with a caption about him being possessed.<\/p>\n<p>Holub, 27, told police that his house was haunted by the ghost of the baby\u2019s grandmother and that could have been how Santino was hurt \u2013 but\u00a0partway through the trial in Leicester he admitted killing him.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/breaking911.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/ad_185424427-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-54304 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/breaking911.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/ad_185424427-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"748\" height=\"365\" srcset=\"https:\/\/breaking911.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/ad_185424427-1.jpg 748w, https:\/\/breaking911.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/ad_185424427-1-300x146.jpg 300w, https:\/\/breaking911.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/ad_185424427-1-533x261.jpg 533w, https:\/\/breaking911.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/ad_185424427-1-696x340.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 748px) 100vw, 748px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>His girlfriend who was also\u00a0the baby\u2019s stepsister Tereza Lackova, 20, initially joined in with the claim that a spirits had killed the baby but she changed her plea to guilty as well, admitting neglect and allowing the death of a child.<\/p>\n<p>Detective Inspector Justin Spanner of West Midlands Police said: \u2018Santino was supposed to be in a safe environment and in the care of his own family.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The couple claimed that either the spirit of Lackova\u2019s grandmother, who had died a short time ago, or the death of the woman who occupied their flat before them, had come back to injure Santino.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We know from our inquiries that the pair had shared photos of Santino\u2019s injuries on their Facebook accounts and claimed the ghosts had caused them.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Unfortunately no one ever came forward to report concerns around these images.\u2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A couple from Birmingham, England, who claimed ghosts had attacked and killed the baby they were looking after have been jailed.
