Florida police are now searching for a man they say attempted to kill his father by dousing him in gasoline and setting him on fire inside their home.<\/p>\n
Detective Fernando Morales of the Homestead Police Department said that Tabias Rollins, 38, got into a domestic dispute with his 64-year-old father.<\/p>\n
Rollins then doused his father, who has not been named, with gasoline before setting him on fire, according to the detective.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n ‘During the argument, Rollins decided to douse his father with gasoline and light him on fire,’ said Detective Morales.<\/p>\n ‘Fire [department] was able to get here on time, extinguish the fire and airlift the father to Kendall Regional Medical Center.’<\/p>\n It is not clear what the argument was about.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n The victim’s daughter, Canitra Rollins, said her mother was home during the incident,\u00a0CBS4<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n ‘My mom was beside him and my dad was wide awake,’ Canitra Rollins said.<\/p>\n Morales confirmed that Rollins had a ‘past history’ with the police department.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Red Cross said it was providing assistance to the displaced family.<\/p>\n When police arrived at the scene, Rollins had already fled in a white 2000 Cadillac DeVille with a black top.<\/p>\n
