WATCH: (Scroll Down For Video) ISIS have released footage of its new ‘Islamic Police’ who are now patrolling the streets of Libya.<\/p>\n

The terror group\u00a0has a presence in a number of coastal Libyan cities including Derna, Nofilia and Sirte, and is looking to expand its control.<\/p>\n

In an apparent\u00a0demonstration of its increasing presence in the region ISIS\u00a0has released a video of what it calls its \u2018Islamic Police\u2019, armed and uniformed men who are now patrolling the streets of Sirte.<\/p>\n

US Defence Secretary Ashton Carter compared Daesh\u2019s presence in the Middle East as a \u2018growing tumour\u2019, and the UN has expressed concern that it is looking for ways to take more territory in North Africa.<\/p>\n

The unit has its own white pick up truck ‘police cars’, complete with flashing lights and sirens.<\/p>\n

\u2018While currently concentrated in its stronghold in Sirte, ISIL could seek local alliances to expand its territorial control, also entailing the risk of motivating additional foreign terrorist fighters to join the group in Libya,\u2019 a UN report read.<\/p>\n

The terror group have reportedly prioritised a takeover of the port city of Ajdabiya, which is Libya\u2019s largest oil hub.<\/p>\n
