Eight police officers have been killed by gunfire since the beginning on 2016.<\/p>\n
Over five police officers have died this\u00a0week alone.<\/p>\n
During January 1st to February 12th, only one officer was shot dead during 2015.<\/p>\n
Many of the deaths in the first six weeks of 2015 were traffic related incidents.<\/p>\n
Case County Sheriff Paul Laney released a statement saying:\u00a0‘People are hunting us. How do you think that sits with us?<\/span><\/p>\n ‘But yet we wear this badge with honor and pride and we’re going to go out every day and protect our communities.’<\/p>\n On Thursday this week, Major Greg Barney of Georgia, was carrying out a no knock warrant.<\/p>\n \n
