The President yesterday declared a major disaster exists in the State of Oregon and ordered federal aid to supplement state, tribal, and local recovery efforts in the area affected by severe winter storms, straight-line winds, flooding, landslides, and mudslides during the period of December 6-23, 2015.<\/p>\n
Federal funding is available to state, tribal, and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe winter storms, straight-line winds, flooding, landslides, and mudslides in the counties of Clatsop, Columbia, Coos, Curry, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Multnomah, Polk, Tillamook, Washington, and Yamhill.<\/p>\n
Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide.<\/p>\n
W. Craig Fugate, Administrator, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Department of Homeland Security, named Dolph A. Diemont as the Federal Coordinating Officer for federal recovery operations in the affected area.<\/p>\n
FEMA said additional designations may be made at a later date if requested by the state and warranted by the results of further damage assessments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
