Harper Lee, the author of To Kill A Mockingbird, has died at the age of 89.<\/p>\n
The writer had been confined to a nursing home in Monroeville after he hearing and sight were affected by a stoke in 2007.<\/p>\n
Lee had only made a few public appearances and has rarely spoken publicly since 1964.<\/p>\n
She was born on April 28th, 1926, in\u00a0Monroeville, the youngest of four children of lawyer Amasa Colemean and Francis Finch Lee.<\/p>\n
She was commonly known as Nelle to friends and family.<\/p>\n
Lee had retreated into a private life in Monroeville following To Kill A Mockingbird and refused to publish another novel.<\/span><\/p>\n To Kill A Mockingbird sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.<\/p>\n
