DeFuniak Springs, FL — Residents in Walton County, Florida are on edge after a woman was attacked by a mysterious animal.<\/p>\n
The woman initially told police she thought it was a bear but officials say they can confirm it was not.<\/p>\n
Following is a news release from the Sheriff’s Department: Tuesday at 8:12am Walton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a woman possibly attacked by an animal on Eglin property. <\/em><\/p>\n Walton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of 8866 U.S Highway 331 South along with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.<\/p>\n The victim was transported by Walton County EMS with non-life threatening injuries. There is NO confirmation at this time to WHAT type of species was involved in the attack.<\/em><\/p>\n Florida Fish and Wildlife will be investigating.
