All personnel are directed to shelter in place. More info as it comes.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The base sent a further update: &#8216;The incident is ongoing at the Malcolm Grow Medical Facility. First responders are on-scene now.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The base has released a statement saying;\u00a0\u00a0&#8216;We are reacting to a report of a real world active shooter. The call occurred during an exercise. Because the report came in as a real active shooter we have to respond accordingly.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>According to NBC Washington, Joint Base Andrews planned an active shooter drill for 9 a.m.. At the same time, an active shooter was reported.<\/p>\n<p>Andrews Field is the airfield portion of Joint Base Andrews which is under the jurisdiction of the United States Air Force.
