Cops from the 44 Precinct saved a three-year-old boy after performing first aid and rushing the toddler to the hospital. Police Officer Ariel Zaremba was outside of the station house Saturday when he was approached by a frantic father who was holding his unresponsive son who had gone limp. Officer Zaremba and Police Officer George Lippi checked for the child’s vital signs and possible obstructions to his airway. Finding no obstructions, they began chest compressions when they could not detect a pulse.

“I immediately thought of my son and realized we had to do something,” says Sgt. Jason Isaia. “We had to get this child to the hospital immediately.”

Upon observing the child’s jaw clenching and his eyes rolling towards the back of his head Sergeants Anthony Lombardo and Jason Isaia directed the officers to transport the child to Bronx Lebanon Hospital where hospital staff quickly began to render aid to the toddler. Soon after their arrival, officers were relieved to hear the child’s cries.
