NEW YORK — (NYPD News<\/em>) — Police officers in Manhattan arrested a man for assaulting and robbing a delivery person from a popular Lower East Side diner.<\/p>\n The victim, a 38-year-old man, was delivering food from the Odessa Diner to an apartment building located at 430 East 6 Street on Thursday August 11 when he was assaulted from behind and rendered unconscious.<\/p>\n The unidentified suspect removed over 300 dollars and fled.<\/p>\n Sergeant Dellauniversita and Police Officer Novellino of the 9 Precinct Conditions team responded and were told by security guards that video footage was available. The two officers worked with Detective Zwilling and Police Officer Conte of the 9 Precinct\u2019s Detective Squad who later determined that the suspect fled into a nearby building and were able to arrest the man after conducting an investigation. The suspect was charged with robbery and assault.<\/p>\n
