A declassified report of alleged Russian hacking does not make an assessment on the impact of hacking on the election outcome.<\/p>\n
“Insights into Russian efforts \u2014 including specific cyber operations \u2014 and Russian views of key US players derive from multiple corroborating sources,” the report stated.<\/p>\n
“We also assess Putin and the Russian Government aspired to\u00a0help President-elect Trump\u2019s election chances when possible by\u00a0discrediting Secretary Clinton and publicly contrasting her unfavorably to\u00a0him,” the report states. “All three agencies agree with\u00a0this judgment. CIA and FBI have high confidence in\u00a0this judgment, NSA has moderate confidence.”<\/p>\n
“We assess Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election,” it said.<\/p>\n
“Russia’s goals were to undermine public faith in the US democratic process, denigrate Secretary [Hillary] Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency.”<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile Russia, China, other countries, outside\u00a0groups and people are consistently trying to\u00a0break through\u00a0the cyber infrastructure of\u00a0our governmental institutions, businesses and organizations including the Democrat National Committee, there was absolutely no effect on\u00a0the outcome of\u00a0the election including the fact that there was no tampering whatsoever with\u00a0voting machines,\u201d the statement from\u00a0the president-elect stated.<\/p>\n
House of\u00a0Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan said in\u00a0a press release.<\/p>\n
“We must also be clear that there is no evidence that there was any interference in\u00a0the voting or balloting process. We cannot allow partisans to\u00a0exploit this report in\u00a0an attempt to\u00a0delegitimize the president-elect\u2019s victory,” Ryan stated on\u00a0Friday. “Donald Trump won this election fair and square because he heard the voices of\u00a0Americans who felt forgotten.”<\/p>\n
