San Leandro, CALIF. — (News Release \/ San Leandro PD)<\/em> — On Sunday evening, February 12, approximately 9:47 pm, the San Leandro Police Department received 9-1-1 calls regarding gunshots heard in the area of Marina Boulevard and Verna Court. While officers responded to that area, the Department received calls from 2500 Merced Street regarding a woman screaming for help from the Kaiser Hospital parking lot.<\/p>\n When officers arrived at the hospital, they discovered a shooting victim, seated in the driver\u2019s seat of a vehicle. A woman, identifying herself as the victim\u2019s wife, and other family members were also in the vehicle.<\/p>\n Officers and emergency medical personnel attempted life-saving measures on the victim, however he succumbed to the injuries sustained and was pronounced deceased.<\/p>\n Officers discovered evidence of a shooting in the 1900 block of Marina Boulevard, which is approximately a half mile north of Kaiser Hospital.<\/p>\n Evidence located at the scene suggests that there were several unassociated vehicles in the area of the shooting when the incident occurred. The San Leandro Police Department is asking that anyone with information regarding this incident please contact the Department\u2019s Criminal Investigation Division. The Detective handling this investigation is Mike Benz. The general number to the Department\u2019s Criminal Investigation Division is (510) 577-3230.<\/p>\n This shooting was possibly the result of a \u201croad-rage\u201d incident.
