At least one person has been killed and ten injured after a train derailed after colliding with a hydraulic crane in the Netherlands.

Photographs that emerged on social of the collision show the train on its side across farmland.

The incident took place near the town of Dalfsen, 75 miles east of Amsterdam.

A spokesperson for the rail company confirmed the crash occurred at around 9am local time.

Eyewitnesses told Dutch News that the crane had waited for a first train, and then attempted to cross but was hit by a train coming from the opposite direction.
