Islamic Terror Attack In Philly: Officer SHOT In Patrol Car

Police have said that an officer was ambushed in an execution-style attack whilst he was sitting in his marked police car, leaving the officer with three gunshot wounds.

Sources tell Eyewitness News the suspect has given a full confession, saying he did it in the name of Islam.

Police Commissioner Richard Ross has said that a 30-year-old suspect fired 13 shots into the car on Thursday night.

Police have not yet confirmed any official motive in the attack.

Police have surveillance video of the attack.

According to the Associated Press, the suspect was swiftly taken into custody by fellow officers after he fled from the scene.

The suspect has given a full confession, saying he did it in the name of Islam. The gunman, identified as Edward Archer, 30, also told investigators he has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS).

 “This is absolutely one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen,” Ross told reporters during a press conference.

Officer Jesse Hartnett is a five-year-veteran of the force, he suffered a broken arms and facial injuries.

Both of the men were taken to local hospitals.

The condition of the suspect has not yet been released.
