LAX: Man Dressed Up As Pilot Tries To Get on JetBlue Flight

Update: According to NBC-LA, Four juveniles were taken into custody after they reportedly jumped a fence at the airport Thursday morning. This incident is not connected to earlier threat, officials said.

More: A bomb squad has been inspecting a JetBlue plane at the Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday morning after an unauthorized man, dressed as a pilot, was reported in a passenger boarding bridge.

Police received a call at around 6 AM of a person of in the Terminal 3, Gate 31B jet bridge, which are the ramps passengers use to get from a terminal gate to a plane.

The flight was delayed and the plane was moved to the airfield’s west end for inspection.

JetBlue Flight 24 was scheduled to depart at 6:30 a.m. from that gate for New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. There were no passengers or crew on board when the person was spotted on the bridge, LAX officials confirmed.

“Out of an abundance of caution, aircraft and luggage onboard flight 24 from LAX to JFK are being rescreened following a potential security issue,” JetBlue said in a statement.

The flight was expected to depart at 9:30 a.m.

Pedregon said there was no security breach, but the incident was under investigation.

No one has been taken into custody. Police were searching for the unauthorized man.
