ORLANDO, Florida — A Deputy with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office shot a suspect outside of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) training center on Monday.

The suspect is alive but suffered life-threatening injuries and was in emergency surgery.

Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings told CBS-Miami, the deputy had no choice but to shoot the man who he believed had a knife outside the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. Demings said the man charged the deputy, who tried to retreat before firing his gun.

The man was prohibited from being on WWE property as he had previously stalked a female wrestler. The Sheriff said the man was known to be “fixated” on the female WWE employee.

The suspect is a 29-year-old Hispanic male.

The female wrestler was not identified.

An investigation is ongoing. Stay with Breaking911 for updates.
