20-year-old Brandon Hoffman has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated assault after he killed his girlfriend’s son by reenacting a pro-wrestling move.
The victim, 18-month-old Bryson Shoemaker died after Hoffman performed The Undertaker’s “The Last Ride” move on the child. (Video of the wrestling move below) He says he intended for the child to land on the bed but he hit the floor.
The suspect gave the child CPR for a while before taking him to a hospital. He did not call 911 because he feared he would be in trouble.
The WWE gave the following statement to TMZ: “There is no excuse for a 20-year-old grown man to assault an 18-month old child, no matter what. Using a flimsy excuse about emulating a wrestling maneuver does not absolve Brandon Hoffman of this abhorrent crime. The death of Bryson Shoemaker is a tragedy, and WWE offers its condolences to the child’s mother, Sierra Shoemaker.”
