FINAL UPDATE: Suspicious Package On Penn State Campus Deemed Safe

Pennsylvania- Students at Penn State University were alerted to a suspicious package on campus Tuesday afternoon after a maintenance worker found the item along a fence line near the university’s sustainability center.  Police advised that the suspicious device was to the south of Medlar Field.  CVKzToWUwAAKkWP

Police are currently on scene and investigating.  A Penn State spokesman says there is “currently no threat to the public.”  Penn States EMS advised that bomb techs have just arrived on the sceneCVKhyunWcAAkL_T

Around 4:15 there were reports of a blast in the vicinity of the package.  Soon after bomb techs confirmed they detonated the package and determined the situation safe.  A spokesman said that this will be an ongoing investigation and that there was “nothing inside” the package.
