NEW YORK — Police are investigating an apparent hate crime against a Jewish bookstore manager in Manhattan.
The incident occurred at the West Side Judaica on Monday.
Police say the attack happened when the 52-year-old victim approached a man who was pacing outside of the store.
When making contact, the suspect reportedly said, “F*ck you Jews. I’ll kill you. I’m a Muslim!”. The man then allegedly punched the victim in the face and fled the scene on a Razr scooter.
The suspect, described as black, 5-foot-10 and in his 20s, was wearing a red jacket and blue jeans, the daily news reported.
The NYPD hate crime task force is investigating. No arrests have been made.
